La Guardia Airport

New York, New York

The biggest infrastructure project in North America at the time, Rosewich was responsible for the structural detailing, design coordination and fabrication management for 15 unique and complex bridge structures, totalling 15,000 tons, in a highly congested construction site and within a schedule critical program. Handling steel structures as large as 100 tons and 150 feet in length involved the development of exacting transportation methodology over long distances on sea and land. Detailed shop drawings drawn up by Rosewich, along with stringent design checks, quality assurance and dimensional control during fabrication and the use of Rosewich’s QC/QA weld tracking database, resulted in the accurate installation on-site of all pieces despite complicated site logistics.
