The Tawatina Bridge is part of the 13km Light Rail Transit construction project in the Edmonton Valley. Rosewich has been contracted to complete the modelling and detailing of the underdeck suspended walkway structure on the bridge which carries the Light Rail over the North Saskatchewan River. The suspended walkway consists of complex and light-weight structural steel girders and deck sections which will be erected concurrent with the cable stayed, concrete box girder bridge. It will be suspended by a system of permanent hangers attached on the top to the concrete bridge and on the bottom to the steel pedestrian bridge floor beams. With the Project in its early stages, Rosewich is undertaking co-ordination with the client to ensure the shop drawings contribute towards the most efficient fabrication of the structure and erection of the suspended walkway and its connection to each of the various components of the bridge.
